What’s Involved?

This meeting icebreaker is ideal for getting a conference off to a fantastic and positive start.

The Boomwhacker is a hollow, plastic, musical tube that comes in five different colours, each with its own distinctive pitch, which produces a different sound when struck on the hand (or any other part of the body!)

Within minutes, our facilitators will create a musical orchestra in the room by getting your team to recreate rhythms. Watch the energy levels rise, and your employees become uplifted!

The Event Programme

This icebreaker activity begins with everyone getting their own boomwhacker. Teams are formed based on which colour you’ve got - and their given a rhythm to play based on this. Don’t worry - our facilitators are fantastic at making this task super-accessible so everyone can get involved.

Optional Activities

Want to do a longer icebreaker session? No problem! From New Zealand All Black Haka to African-style body percussion, we have many options to keep your team entertained and energised.

At some events, 10 – 30 employees get up on stage to join Mark Walker and his drum assistants. They are taught a simple rhythm on the drums - while the remaining employees learn everything from body percussion rhythms to tribal chant and African-style dances.

These extended Boomwhacker sessions make for an energetic, exciting, and uplifting end to an icebreaker activity.
